Rights of People

Most of the democratic countries all over the world have declared human rights for its inhabitants. They have got freedom to select the occupation, dwelling places and many more.

We all know that governments deduct various taxes from people for providing the rights and services. Most of the governments work mainly in the service sector, whose prime responsibility becomes to provide the infrastructure, the road, the electricity and obviously the security.

The problem arises, when the people pay taxes to several government bodies and till they don’t get the service. Let us take an example, if the road condition becomes too poor that your car demands more oil or you meet with accidents, then your mind bubbles with thousands of why and that too when you pay tax on time.

You pay for the electricity and at times the load shedding become too pain staking that you loose a lot of vital man hours. If you pay the telephone bill on time and yet the connection gets disrupted, your mind sets back and impregnates the revolution against governments.

The advantage of democracy is that there is always an opposition to point out the faults of the government to keep them on the right track. Unfortunately most of the opponents focus on issues which will earn political mileage for them and hardly looks after the common interest of the public.

Can’t we think of mechanism, where the government needs to pay a penalty for the duration of not providing the services, the way the people are penalized for delay in payment of taxes?
